YOS Senior Practitioner – Hounslow

Swim Social Work Recruitment are looking to recruit a YOS Senior Practitioner to join a Youth Offending Team based in Hounslow. This is a full time, temporary post for 3 months. You must have the following; *Youth offending experience
*Experience of working with criminal courts
*Supervisory experience is desirable

Your job will be to;
*Assist and advise YOS Officers with regards to Court duty and work with the Courts.
*Attend court hearings (including Saturday and Bank Holiday courts on a rota basis).
*Contribute to the safe assessment of young people in the criminal justice process to help courts make decisions about bail or remand of young people
*Facilitate the engagement of colleagues in Children's Social Care with regard to the placement of children with complex needs and looked after children arrested, bailed or remanded to local authority accommodation (secure or non-secure) in accordance with agreed local protocols, and ensure that information flows are maintained.
*To participate in YOS quality assurance arrangements including the quality assurance of court reports and assessments in accordance with relevant standards.
*To assist in the allocation of work to staff and the co-ordination of the overall work of the team.
*To supervise staff towards the achievement of identified YOS objectives, in accordance with departmental requirements and local and national standards
*Prepare pre-sentence and other reports for the courts giving proposals for intervention to reduce offending with regard both to the welfare of the young person and the protection of the public.
