Job Title: Technical Architect II - 1056 Requisition ID: 1056 Full/Part Time: Full Time, Employee Location: Jacksonville Job duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Communicate the architectural vision, experiment with alternative architectural approaches, create interface specification documents and validate the architecture against requirements
- Develop a consistent framework for future BCBSF technology decisions
- Understanding and link business architecture with the technical architecture for the enterprise
- Bridge the gaps between business and technology and deliver a blueprint for developing the enterprise technical structure
- Provide expertise as it relates to decision-making and priorities for the enterprise technical architecture
- Knowledge of technology trends in order to support current and future enterprise opportunities
- Designs application modules that work together to produce desired product. Ensures that completed modules provide functionality described by application experts and to ensure that performance guidelines are met.
- Provides high-level analysis and design reviews to other team members to avoid duplication of effort in solving the same application problems with different products.
- Interact with both technical/business management level staff and technical staff within BCBSF (DBAs, DAs, Developers, project managers, managers) as well as counterparts outside the organization (vendors)
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of progressive, broad applied technical work experience doing technology configuration, deployment and systems integration
- Understanding of current and emerging technologies for the web applications development
- Demonstrated experience creating, documenting and communicating architectural designs for sub-components of various business capabilities; preferably health care capabilities.
- Experienced in Web services and web application development, Java, J2EE, web services, XML, Servlets, JSP, n-tier architecture, UML, EJB, JDBC, SQL, JBoss, WebLogic, .net, WebObjects, HTML
- Experienced in SOA/Enterprise Integration Spring/Hibernate/similar frameworks
- Demonstrated proficiency with consulting/negotiating formally and informally with others, the technical staff and/or business staff and/or vendors.
- Experience with Java Application Servers (WebSphere or WebLogic) or Open Source Application Servers (ie JBoss) Architecture design experience and design patterns
Business Specific Criteria (preferred skills):
- Bachelor or Master's degree related to Information Technology
- Understanding of current health care company trends with respect to technology and practices
