Vice President, Infrastructure & Information Technology Lac La Biche Corporate Centre - Alberta Full Time Continuous Position Salary: $126,276 - $149,892 per annum Portage College is actively seeking a highly motivated, dynamic, and innovative Vice President, Infrastructure and Information Technology, (VP I & IT) who will collaboratively lead the College through leading-edge initiatives with the goal of providing excellence in technology.
Reporting directly to the President, the Vice President of I & IT fulfills the role of Chief Information Officer at Portage College and provides vision and leadership for developing and implementing information technology initiatives, including:
» Leading the Strategic Planning process as it relates to Infrastructure & IT; establishing action plans and implementing strategies to achieve the College vision and direction.
» Advancing use of technology in instruction, both on site and at a distance.
» Developing and maintaining an appropriate IT organizational structure that supports the needs of the College.
» Implementing ITM Control Framework at the College.
» Providing strategic direction to the infrastructure department, including development of a 20-year campus development plan.
» Working with the President and Board's Enterprise Risk and Information Technology Management Committee to provide reporting and planning to ensure solid IT governance.
The Vice President, I & IT, will:
» Be an outcomes based leader capable of establishing goals that are relevant, realistic, and attainable.
» Work collaboratively with the Vice President Academic and Vice President of Student and College Services to fulfil the College's mandate to bring education to learners and operate with internal excellence.
» Be a team player with a strong commitment to both internal dialogue and provision of opportunities for employee engagement.
This position is located at the Corporate Centre in Lac La Biche, Alberta. In addition, the College has regional centres in St. Paul and Cold Lake, and a number of community campuses throughout Northeastern Alberta, including program presence on First Nations reserves and Metis settlements.

Qualifications:
» University Degree in Computer Sciences, coupled with a Masters Degree in related field. Preference will be given to candidates with certificates and diplomas of ongoing education.
» A proven record of at least five to 10 years of: senior leadership experience in understanding multiple disciplines and diverse organizations, project management, strategic planning and execution, leading multimillion dollar projects, as well as budgeting and business planning.
» Minimum five years working experience at a post-secondary institution.
» Strong leadership, organizational, excellent written and oral communication, and strong negotiation skills are necessary.
» Extensive experience with data processing, hardware platforms, enterprise software applications, and outsourced systems.
» Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (Moodle preferred), and multimedia and social media applications in curriculum development, marketing, and communications.
» Experience working in a cross-cultural environment.
