Application Software Engineer, C++, £30-35k + benefits!

A Software Engineer is wanted to develop new C++ applications at the forefront of scientific technology. Ideal Application Software Engineers will have experience developing software applications with excellent cross platform development (Linux and Windows) and C++ programming. You'll join a spacious open plan office environment working in a dynamic and fast-moving team of Software Engineers.

Location: Cambridge
Salary: £30-35k + benefits including 25 days holiday, share option scheme, pension, childcare scheme, free car parking, on-site restaurant, flexible working hours

Requirements as an Application Software Engineer include:
-Object Orientated C++ programming
-experience developing software applications
-cross platform development experience

Application Software Engineer desirables:
-Cross platform development experience with Windows and Linux
-Programming in other languages including Python, Perl, Java, Javascript or C
-Demonstrated interest or background in database internals, data visualization, distributed systems, document processing, bioinformatics, semantic technology, XML processing, natural language processing or grid computing
-Exposure to build systems, testing frameworks, bug tracking systems, software version control, frameworks or interactive development environments

Primary responsibilities as an Application Software Engineer include:
-development of new software for scientific applications
-support of existing software applications
-creation of test cases to allow regression testing of software
-liaison with customers to define requirements

The Application Software Engineer we are looking for should have a proven background of application software development and C++ programming for Windows and Linux. You'll be part of a dynamic, fast moving company developing new products at the forefront of scientific technology.
