Wireless/WiMAX - Engineer

Our search firm has an exclusive search for a WiMAX/Wireless Engineer with the newest wireless/4G player in Dallas! Here is your chance to get in on the ground-floor with a start-up that is already profitable. You will support and maintain their RF network consisting of WiMAX based stations and oversee the design and installation of new base station sites and equipment.

REQUIREMENTS:
*  You must currently live in the USA. 
*  Moving to Dallas:  You can move to Dallas for little money (client does NOT have a formal relocation package)
*  WiMAX: 2+ years using 802.16(d) or 802.16(e) from an equipment supplier (ie Motorola, AirSpan, Huawai, Alvarion, similar).
*  RF network mgt: 4+ years with one or more cellular-oriented voice and data access technologies operating in the 800Mhz to 3.65 Ghz frequency range (ie WiMax, GSM, or CDMA).

COMPENSATION:
> Base salary: $85-100K.

> Flexible work schedule: Work from home 1-2 days per week.

DUTIES:
o Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair faults in the corporate WiMax RF network.
o Travel to base station sites as required to diagnose and repair troubles, and/or oversee vendor field repairs.
o Work with our corporate technical support personnel, support vendors and equipment suppliers to repair faults and optimize network performance, including performance related to RF coverage, RF capacity/throughput, RF link stability, and airlink packet loss.
o Collaborate with corporate and customer technical support personnel to isolate and repair troubles.
o Collect, analyze and report network performance data based on defined Key Performance Indicators.
o Identify, recommend and implement systems and process changes to enhance RF network performance.
o Research sources of harmful interference and take necessary steps to mitigate interference through changes to corporate frequency plan and/or working with other WiMax system operators to eliminate such sources of interference.
o Research interference notices from grandfathered 3.65 Ghz Fixed Satellite Station operators, and work with such operators to eliminate any corporate interference on FSS systems.
o Develop and/or review RF network and site designs to ensure such designs meet corporate business, technical and operational objectives.
o Oversee the construction, configuration and commissioning of new base station sites.
o Assist in the identification and selection of new base station tower sites.
o Prepare and/or review technical documentation related to network/site design specifications (eg, tower site lease equipment specs, FCC ULS site registration filings, etc.).
